Projective Reconstruction of Surfaces of Revolution
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper addresses the problem of recovering the generating curve of a surface of revolution from a single uncalibrated perspective view, based solely on the object’s outline and two (partly) visible crosssections. Without calibration of the camera’s internal parameters such recovery is only possible up to a particular transformation of the true shape. This is however sufficient for 3D reconstruction up to a 2DOF transformation, for recognition of objects, and for transfer between views. We will describe the basic algorithm and show some examples.

Stereo Calibration from Rigid Motions
This paper describes a method to upgrade projective reconstruction to a ne and to metric reconstructions using rigid general or planar motions of a stereo rig. We make clear the algebraic relationships between projective reconstruction, the plane at in nity (a ne reconstruction), camera calibration, and metric reconstruction when a 3-D scene is observed with a moving stereo rig. Based on an in-...
متن کاملReconstruction of Surfaces of Revolution from Single Uncalibrated Views
This paper addresses the problem of recovering the 3D shape of a surface of revolution from a single uncalibrated perspective view. The algorithm introduced here makes use of the invariant properties of a surface of revolution and its silhouette to locate the image of the revolution axis, and to calibrate the focal length of the camera. The image is then normalized and rectified such that the r...
متن کاملReconstruction of Kinematic Surfaces from Scattered Data ∗
Given a surface in 3-space or scattered points from a surface, we present algorithms for fitting the data by a surface which can be generated by a one–parameter subgroup of the group of similarities. These surfaces are general cones and cylinders, surfaces of revolution, helical surfaces and spiral surfaces.
متن کامل$PI$-extending modules via nontrivial complex bundles and Abelian endomorphism rings
A module is said to be $PI$-extending provided that every projection invariant submodule is essential in a direct summand of the module. In this paper, we focus on direct summands and indecomposable decompositions of $PI$-extending modules. To this end, we provide several counter examples including the tangent bundles of complex spheres of dimensions bigger than or equal to 5 and certain hyper ...
متن کاملSurface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...
